Muppets Take Manhattan

Three games on the NHL slate tonight. Not all games are meaningful (see Stars @ Coyotes 10 PM ET), but two out of three ain't bad. Out West, the Sharks roll into Calgary as the two division leaders will duke it out for a little pre-playoff messaging.

Here in the big city, the Muppets, er Devils, skate into the Garden to take on the new look Rangers (Versus, 7 PM ET). A few months ago, these two teams played a couple of spirited affairs and neither Marty Brodeur or Sean Avery was present. Now we have a party! Ah, remember the NHL before the Avery Rule? How did the NHL survive the past 100+ years without incorporating this rule?

The 9th-place Florida Panthers trail the Broadway Blueshirts by only two points so you know Rangers coach John Tortorella will be in a feisty mood and will expect the troops to follow his lead. If the Devils get the calls, will we see a Torts meltdown?
