If this is your first serving of the The Daily Sauce - soon to be coined TDS - prepare to have your mind blown and a puck land perfectly on your blade every day.
We are two weeks away from the start of the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs and you can feel the excitement all across the nation. Sure only the die'est of the diehards are small talkin' people about the tight playoff races in the NHL during these final dozen games, but perhaps people are growing tired of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Ok, that's probably not true (Go Nova!).
The 2009 MLB season commences in a week, which is good news for sports fans, New Yorkers, Bostonians, and men 55-89. I'm as amped for baseball as anyone else, but when you think about all 162 games that are upon us... the buzz will simmer down.
That's why we need the Stanley Cup Playoffs. And the Stanley Cup Playoffs need YOU.
Playoff beards. Red hot goalies. Nasty rivalries are formed and bitter rivalries are renewed. Sudden-death overtime - there's nothing like it. And of course... the oldest and most legendary trophy is presented to the team crazy enough to sacrifice mind, body and soul for 4 grueling rounds. Long live the Stanley Cup.
The plan for this blog is still very fuzzy. The plan to start this blog was consummated less than 45 minutes ago. I do know this... I will be blogging like a maniac to provide some insight, commentary, opinions and redundancies during the next few months to filter all the good stories that occur during the playoffs and share them in one place.
So instead of the fragmentation of AOL IM, email, Facebook and Twitter. I will try my best to put out the vibes right here.
